In the wind

This piece to me illustrates the motion and unity of nature in a very creative way. The glare on the backdrop, as a result of the lightmadethe black under neath it all seem dark blue. The color mixed with the design of the trees gives the impression of stars in the night sky, but your attention is immediately brought back to the trunks of the trees standing firmly in the swaying brush.

Most noticeably, the geometric lines and rhythm of the different patterns contribute to the movement of my eyes as look at it. The texture of the structures in the front displays the flow and uniformity of nature under the effects of wind and light. The use of a similar pattern across all the structures offers an entrancing imitation of the actual night sky. my final observation would have to be that the colors are monochromatic. To me this art seems to have been made to enhance the effects of every day happenstances. while it is very abstract i think it also takes its philosophy from Aristotle. It has aspects of both representational art and abstract art. If i had to chose i would say it leans more towards abstract but I was able to recognize the objects in the piece.

Breeze Trees

This painting is of a town from the view of the forest far off. Everything is peaceful, the birds are leisurely soaring across the sky and the clouds take their queue from the waves of the ocean. The painting appears to be coming toward you in waves of warmth, characterized by the "blurry" nature of the brush strokes.
The artist utilizes elements of shape in the painting, using organic shapes as well as the geometric buildings in the back round. The texture is very real. You can almost feel the breeze rushing though the leaves on the trees. Foreshortening is used to place the lone tree in the foreground and the city farther back. Light is also utilized in the photo to gain space. by darkening the trees and making the city bright and vibrant, the artist created the illusion i perceived of being in the woods far away observing the city.
This art, in my opinion, was made to enhance our environment, but i imagine it also met the need of this artist as well. Aesthetically, I would say plainly that the artist is imitating nature. This is representational art.

Smashed

Contrasting textures on the walls makes you notice every detail. the shadows that appear to be coming from the end of the hallway lead your eyes directly forward. the lines on the left wall draw your eyes forward as well and the left wall moves them the up and down the photo. I would say this photo isn't probably the prettiest of most focused, but it meets my needs as an artist. The movement of my eyes when i look at this piece pleases me. It seems as though the only way is forward through this hall, this is the idea i was hoping to convey. By using the contrasting walls and light from above, i wanted to draw the attention of the viewer to the end of the walk way. I believe this takes after a Richards style of art.

Somebody Else's Time

I caught a glimpse of this image while standing under a tree waiting for a friend to give me a ride. This photo commemorates this experience well by capturing the blotches of light dancing on the tree's rhythmically patterned bark. Not only is this an imitation of nature it is also a distorted positioning of the photo making unconventional, illusory depth.

Corner of the Eye

I took this photo at work as I was stacking the crates that hold our breakfast sandwiches. as i was walking away I noticed a movement out of the corner of my eye. The photo doesn't so this movement justice but it does provide an experience of depth, symmetry and contrast. This art creates beauty in my environment, out of ordinary everyday objects came this living illusion. Once again I would describe this piece as Avante Garde because of use of ordinary objects that I utilized to obtain this photo. To me I feel great ease looking at a such symmetry.

The clouds in this photo enhance our environment because it provides an illusion to the eyes. What you can't see is is that the lines left by the planes in the photo are actually going in completely different directions, but the cropping of the photo makes them appear in the same plane. I would describe this art as Avante Garde, because it challenges the commonly excepted form of art.

Abstract

Abstract

This piece appears abstract to me because of the human aspect of the eye, but the fact that there is no perfect display of a human figure makes it abstract. The shapes i used are a mixture of geometric and organic. The ball in the center being an example of the geometric shapes, as well as the various squares and triangles i have painted throughout. Whereas the green and grey portions of the painting resemble organic styles of lines and shapes. The section in the top right, gained inspiration from the design of a flower, but i took inspiration for the bottom left portion from a liquid element.
